Hallo lieber Gast

- Paula Modersohn-Becker

We have two complete fairy rings mushrooms in the middle of our garden.

I don't have a drone so I can't photograph the rings in full. They are approximately 2 meters in diameter.

The Snail

To grass, or leaf, or fruit, or wall,
The snail sticks close, nor fears to fall,
As if he grew there, house and all
                                                Together.

Within that house secure he hides,
When danger imminent betides
Of storm, or other harm besides
                                                Of weather.

Give but his horns the slightest touch,
His self-collecting power is such,
He shrinks into his house, with much
                                                Displeasure.

Where'er he dwells, he dwells alone,
Except himself has chattels none,
Well satisfied to be his own
                                                Whole treasure.

Thus, hermit-like, his life he leads,
Nor partner of his banquet needs,
And if he meets one, only feeds
                                                The faster.

Who seeks him must be worse than blind,
(He and his house are so combin'd)
If, finding it, he fails to find
                                                Its master.

The Beauty of Herrenhausen Gardens - 1

The Royal Garden of Herrenhausen, Hannover is one of my all time favorite parks and I'm very pleased living near to it. Two weeks ago at a bright and very warm - in the afternoon really hot day I've spent a wonderful walk with a good friend.

The Garden was in perfect conditions, because in the evening one of the yearly big events started - The Little Festival in the Great Garden. And so the garden shows its very best side. Perfect timing for a photo walk.

It was early in the morning and so the park was not over crowded. The planting was breathtakingly beautiful and the two large fountains (Bell Fountain and the Large Fountain) were fortunately turned on.

The best overview to the jewel in the crown, the Great Parterre and the Bell Fountain on can take from the Great Cascade which is the oldest sculpture in this amazing baroque Garden.

One view and you know why you MUST climb up the stairs of this sculpture.

The black color is a result of the World War 2 and the bombing. Because the building stands next to the castle, which has been completely destroyed. The palace is rebuilt and now a congress centre, and if you got time, you should also visit the museum – it is quite small, but gives a flavour of the historical importance of Herrenhausen and the Royal family.

Next week this lovely walk with you will be continued. So don't miss my weekly posts here.

I wish you all a great and relaxing weekend,

Sincerely yours,

The beauty of simple things - 1

.

The soul, fortunately, has an interpreter -
often an unconscious,
but still a truthful interpreter -
in the eye.

Charlotte Bronte

Blooming peppermint in the herb garden is the start of new series - "the beauty of simple things" and I hope you enjoy it. Seeing deeper is very important for in my whole life, with my camera, my brushes and my words. I would be very pleased if you follow me on my way. Wish you all a great Sunday and a perfect new week.

Sincerely yours,

The great mistake

I am sure it is a great mistake always to know enough to go in when it rains.
One may keep snug and dry by such knowledge, but one misses a world of loveliness.

My North - never seen before

"To the attentive eye, each movement of the year has it's own beauty, and in the fame field it beholds, every hour, a picture which was never seen before and which shall never be seen again."

-   Ralph Waldo Emerson

This time of the year with all it's fresh and crispy greens and the glowing yellow of the raps fields around us here in My North is so full of joy and hope.

Wish you all a great long weekend, dear friends!!

cordially yours, Isabella

It's beginning to look like Christmas

.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Ev'rywhere you go;
Take a look in the five-and-ten, glistening once again
With candy canes and silver lanes aglow.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas,
Toys in ev'ry store,
But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be
On your own front door.

A pair of hopalong boots and a pistol that shoots
Is the wish of Barney and Ben;
Dolls that will talk and will go for a walk
Is the hope of Janice and Jen;
And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Ev'rywhere you go;
There's a tree in the Grand Hotel, one in the park as well,
The sturdy kind that doesn't mind the snow.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas;
Soon the bells will start,
And the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing
Right within your heart.

mein Norden - Willkommen Juli

.

Juli

Brütend über Ährenfeldern
Liegt der Sonne goldner Glast,
Und am kühlen Weiher träumend
Hält die sieb'nte Schwester Rast.

Sinnend blicken ihre Augen
In die unbewegte Flut,
Mit dem Fächer kühlt sie leise
Ihrer Wangen heiße Glut.

Leer sind ihre schlanken Hände,
All ihr Reichtum ausgestreut,
Und sie harrt des Erntesegens,
Den das Jahr der Menschheit beut.

Auf den Wiesen klingt die Sichel,
Aller Blumen Pracht vergeht,
Wenn Natur mit ihren Früchten
Auf dem Höhepunkte steht.

Ruhvoll reift das Gold der Felder,
Mutter Erdes größter Schatz;

my North - expressive feature

.

A lake is a landscape's most beautiful and expressive feature. It is Earth's eye; looking into which the beholder measures the depth of his own nature.
