More than seven million people emigrated through the port of Bremerhaven between 1830 and 1974. At one time, Bremerhaven was the largest emigration port in Europe. More than 90 percent of the emigrants who sailed from here were headed for the USA and Canada and the route across the North Atlantic became the world's busiest “bridge to overseas”.

My finde .... once again a visit to "my" sea, this time in the "Havenwelt", Bremerhaven - North Germany - it's such a photogenic and delightful place with many marvelous designs, buildings, ships, water reflection, harbor feeling, whatever the weather, picturesque, charming and .... fernweh promoting.

while visiting Bremerhaven last week we had this gorgeous "light show" made by the last sunlight and the hint of a rainbow - really a precious moment, isn't it ??
