Noch eine Ros' am kahlen Strauch
Fand im Advent ich aufgeblüht,
Noch eines Liedes zarter Hauch
Klang mir verstohlen im Gemüt.
Der Rose Blätter taumeln hin,
Da ich sie kaum berührt, ins Beet,
Das Liedchen schwand mir aus dem Sinn –
Für Sommerkinder ist's zu spät!
