Rosa Wölkchen überm Wald
wissen noch vom Abendrot dahinter
überwunden ist der Winter,
Frühling kommt nun bald.
Unterm Monde silberweiß,
zwischen Wipfeln schwarz und kraus
flügelt eine Fledermaus
ihren ersten Kreis.

Winzig sind sie, die ersten Anzeichen des nahenden Frühlings und doch fallen die frischen Farbkleckse im braunen Vorjahreslaub deutlich ins Auge. Wie ich diese Jahreszeit liebe, sie ist ein Symbol der Hoffnung und Erneuerung. Und wenn am Himmel die ersten Kraniche, Wildgänse und Schwäne zurückkehren stehe ich immer da und lausche mit unbändiger Freude im Herzen.

They are tiny, the first signs of the approaching spring but yet the fresh splashes of color in the brown leaves of the previous year are clearly eye-catching. How I love this time of year, it is a symbol of hope and renewal. And when the first cranes, wild geese, and swans return in the sky, I always stand there and listen with unbridled joy in my heart.

Es Migjorn Gran
Its origin dates back to 1768 when Sant Cristófol Church (Església de Sant Cristófol) was built. Es Migjorn is a sleepy rural hamlet with an enchanting feel. Its narrow cobbled streets hide some exquisite restaurants, some of which over look the countryside.
As with many of the islands buildings, the homes are painted in white
with green shutters and occasionally you have the odd facade painted in
colonial red or Mediterranean blue. Buildings and streets that please
the photographer or artist.
Es Migjorn is a gem, a peaceful
corner where you can enjoy a discreet conversation or enjoy a lazy
moment wrapped in a pure silence. With such an ambience it`s easy to
appreciate that many residents are artists or musicians, who seek
inspiration amongst the town’s calmness.
Once out of the hamlet
you will discover steep green rural paths that lead down towards the
sea, or rocky gorges with prehistoric settlements, fauna and flora.
