Als Hesse im Mai 1919 ohne Familie in Montagnola, oberhalb des Luganer Sees ankommt, weiß er nicht, dass dieser Ort der sein wird, an dem er sein gesamtes restliches und von nun an sehr erfolgreiches Leben verbringen hier. Hier auf dem Friedhof von Sant'Abbondio ist sein Grab zu finden.
When Hesse arrived in May 1919 without family in Montagnola, above Lake Lugano, he did not know that this place would be where he would spend the rest of his life, which from now on was very successful. His grave can be found here in the cemetery of Sant'Abbondio.
