Hallo lieber Gast

.

Es ist ein Ros entsprungen
aus einer Wurzel zart,
wie uns die Alten sungen,
von Jesse kam die Art
und hat ein Blümlein bracht
mitten im kalten Winter,
wohl zu der halben Nacht.

Lo, how a rose e’er blooming
from tender stem hath sprung!
Of Jesse’s lineage coming,
as men of old have sung.
It came, a floweret bright,
amid the cold of winter,
When half spent was the night.

Time for new Memories - X-Mas

.

Christmas is a time for nostalgia, but it is also a time for making new memories. Enjoy the fellowship of new friends, and cherish the company of family in this season of loving and sharing. Merry Christmas!

Cordially yours,

Be soft

.

Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place.

Vibrations in the soul

.

Color is the keyboard, the eyes are the harmonies, the soul is the piano with many strings.
The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key or another, to cause vibrations in the soul.

It's beginning to look like Christmas

.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Ev'rywhere you go;
Take a look in the five-and-ten, glistening once again
With candy canes and silver lanes aglow.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas,
Toys in ev'ry store,
But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be
On your own front door.

A pair of hopalong boots and a pistol that shoots
Is the wish of Barney and Ben;
Dolls that will talk and will go for a walk
Is the hope of Janice and Jen;
And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Ev'rywhere you go;
There's a tree in the Grand Hotel, one in the park as well,
The sturdy kind that doesn't mind the snow.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas;
Soon the bells will start,
And the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing
Right within your heart.

Saving Time

We speak continually of saving time, but time in its richness is
most often lost to us when we are busy without relief.

Ich brauche Menschen

.

Ich brauche Menschen ...

Ich brauche Menschen! Ja – in hellen Zimmern,
Erfüllt von Düften, Lächeln, Fächeln, Flimmern,
Wo schlank geformt – leichtwiegende Gedanken

.

Das alte Lied

Es geht eine Sage vom tiefen See,
Wo die Nixe taucht aus den Wellen:
Alljährlich erfaßt es mit Angst und Weh
Einen jungen Mühlengesellen.
Ihn schauert's im Haus, erst drunten entflieht
Sein Schmerz in der bläulichen Kühle.
Mir liegt im Sinne das alte Lied
Von dem Müller und seiner Mühle!

Ich mag nicht mehr der Menschen Weis'
Und all ihr Höhnen und Fragen,
Wie ich verlassen den alten Kreis
Aus wilden, thörichten Tagen?
Sie meiden mich, da ich sie mied;
Und kühl ich die lastende Schwüle,
Sie werden sagen: Das alte Lied
Von dem Müller und seiner Mühle!

Du dunkle Tiefe, du lockst so süß

was sollen wir singen, was sollen wir sagen?
Wir wollen euch wünschen zum heiligen Feste
vom Schönen das Schönste, vom Guten das Beste!
Wir wollen euch danken für alle Gaben
und wollen euch immer noch lieber haben.

- Gustav Falke

Ich wünsche Euch eine wunderschöne, harmonische Adventszeit.

herzlichst Isabella

my North - Melancholy

All changes are
more or less tinged
with melancholy,

leaving behind is
part of ourselves.

mein Norden - traumstill die Welt ...

.

Poetry of the last Roses

.

The Last Rose of Summer

’TIS the last rose of summer
  Left blooming alone;
All her lovely companions
  Are faded and gone;
No flower of her kindred,
  No rosebud is nigh,
To reflect back her blushes,
  To give sigh for sigh.

I’ll not leave thee, thou lone one!
  To pine on the stem;
Since the lovely are sleeping,
  Go, sleep thou with them.
Thus kindly I scatter
  Thy leaves o’er the bed,
Where thy mates of the garden
  Lie scentless and dead.

So soon may I follow,
  When friendships decay,
And from Love’s shining circle
  The gems drop away.
When true hearts lie withered
  And fond ones are flown,
Oh! who would inhabit
  This bleak world alone?

Thomas Moore 1778 - 1859

my Garden in Autumn

.

Autumn

The thistledown's flying, though the winds are all still,
On the green grass now lying, now mounting the hill,
The spring from the fountain now boils like a pot;
Through stones past the counting it bubbles red-hot.

The ground parched and cracked is like overbaked bread,
The greensward all wracked is, bents dried up and dead.
The fallow fields glitter like water indeed,
And gossamers twitter, flung from weed unto weed.

Hill-tops like hot iron glitter bright in the sun,
And the rivers we're eying burn to gold as they run;
Burning hot is the ground, liquid gold is the air;
Whoever looks round sees Eternity there.
